Football Freestyle, not many people have heard about the sport but hopefully it will spread faster and faster until it gets a well known sport.
It all started in the streets, kids played against other kids. They tried to humiliate the opponent by doing “pannas” (put the ball between the legs of the opponent) and other crazy moves. The kids took this one step further and they started to battle each other to see who had the best juggling skills. It didn’t take to long time before more and more tricks were invented. And not to long after that they started to film their skills and put them up on the internet and people all around the globe saw these incredible skills.
Footballers all over the world watched and learned and so the sport got a little recognition. Some freestylers took the sport to the next level by doing some crazy tricks like spinning the leg 3!!! times around the ball without touching it. The players built an amazing speed in the legs and more and more amazing moves was discovered.
Football Freestyle also id good for the skills on the pitch, so alot of footballers practice some of the basic skills which gives them some extra skills to use during a real game. So freestyle is not only for people who “can’t” play, but also big names does it!
Today you can see freestylers in TV-ads, doing half time performances at premiership games, performing at clubs and alot more. But the sport is still in its early years and hopefully it will grow ALOT in the next years. Hopefully the sport might get seen by some company who really believes in it and wants to invest in it. This is what the sport needs since the underground scene is really big already.
Some famous freestylers of today that performs world wide is: Palle, Soufiane Touzani, Abbas Farid, John Farnworth, Boomsjakie and so on. These are some of the big names of today. Their fame is far away from Hollywood stars etc, but they sure deserves to be highly respected. Some of the big organisation and companies that is involved with the freestyle business are: Freestyle Factory, Soccershowdown and KAOS football.
