Would you like a free self defense technique? I mean one that is really useful and generally applicable. Then read on.

Self-defense techniques are so numerous that it is difficult to keep track any more. You can find them all over the place, some of them paying and some of them free. The ones you pay for are not always better than the ones that are free and vice-versa.

But here is one that will always stand you in good stead and will not cost you a penny. Are you ready to hear this? OK, here it is. Always be ready to run away.

Hmm, I can hear you muttering, what sort of a free self defense technique is that? The answer is that it is a very good one, whether you use it before any confrontation or as a sequel to any other self-defense moves that you may know. Running away can give you the advantage when your attacker might run after you for your money, but you are running for your life. Your attacker is then likely to give up before you do. If you can only run as far as the next well-lit street, the next passer-by, you have already accomplished a lot.

What if the attacker is threatening you with a weapon? Then running or not will depend on the situation. A weapon such as a knife or a baseball bat is generally only effective at close range. If the weapon is a firearm, you will have to assess what your odds are for running away and surviving. Bear in mind that hand guns become rapidly inaccurate as distance increases, but you still need to put that initial distance between you and your aggressor.

Would you like another free self defense technique? Maybe one that will help if you cannot run away. It’s a bonus which goes well with the first one. Ready? Always know where your exit is and how you can get to it. Yet another obvious statement, although a little less than the first. But it is still something that many people ignore until it is too late.

So please feel free to put these techniques of self-defense to good use and think of the money you will save by not having those hospital bills to pay.
